SERVICES FOR BUSINESS

Let me provide for you an overview of some of the work I've done for various clients. Business Services makes up about 50% of the work which I do as an independent consultant. It is also my most varied work. My first client about four years ago was Habitat for Humanity - Boston. In a small office they were mainly working off of ancient donated computers and network hardware. There was also no centralized file sharing system or office interactivity. Work for them included:

• Building of new custom PCs to save money
• Resurrection of their office Windows NT machine
• Recabling of the office to make sure that all computers were sharing the network
• Updating of old computer when applicable
• Education of staff to use new applications and technology

My most current client is Pamela Paige who is the owner of OnTarget Personal Training. Originally, Pam needed a web presence. After an original design based upon her printed fliers, we decided to completely redesign the look of her site. After about sixth months we both decided that it would be a better path to take to tie the look of her website to the look of the printed material which she was displaying such as brochures and business cards. This required that new printed material be designed and the look become updated. New fliers, business cards, brochures and web site were designed for this project. This project is still under development.

SERVICES FOR HOME

Services for home can be just as varied as the services for businesses I provide. Over the past couple of years I have discovered that the majority of questions which I receive when dealing with home based clients are related to technology purchasing. It seems as if many people when firsts buying a computer were not completely informed as to the correct machine to buy for their needs. In addition to this people don't fully realize what they can do with a computer purchase. With my experience with digital media I can help people make informed choices with their computer purchases so they do not feel they need a new one two years later.

In addition to technology purchases I also educate my clients to use fully the technology they have purchased. Whether a digital camera, camcorder, scanner, or computer, these technologies are not fully used until the user is fully educated to their potential. This is another major request I receive from my home clients. This is one of the more fulfilling parts of dealing with home clients.
